This sale is for a replacement 9 VDC adapter that was provided with the Drake SW8, Eton E1XM, and Grundig Satellit 800 radios. Locating an adapter that supplies both 9 VDC at one amp current is challenging.  The Drake SW8 was the prototype for the later Satellit 800 and then even later with the Eton E1XM radios.  While there are design differences, within the heart of the receiver, there are similarities as Drake supplied schematics for the design of the 800 and then later with the E1XM.  All 3 of these receivers utilize a 9 VDC adapter with a fairly high amperage of 1 amp.
The typical replacement adapters advertised and sold here on Ebay are manufactured in China, are inexpensive, and are the switching variety that create an enormous amount of static interference when used with the radio.  In short, these switching adapters are garbage and they should not be permitted for sale.  However, Ebay allows them to be sold and people purchase them without knowing that they are very bad.  In fact, if you use one of them with your radio, you will find that most signals will be blocked by the overwhelming amount of RF noise rendering your radio virtually useless.  That is why having a good replacement adapter is important to fully appreciate and enjoy your radio.
Please note that the adapter that we are offering is used and may have very minor signs of prior ownership.  The adapter picture is representative of what you will receive, and while it may vary in appearance somewhat from the picture, we guarantee that you will be happy with what arrives in the mail and that it will properly work with your radio.
